The common name Honeysuckle also refers to the species Lonicera caprifolium and Loniceria periclymenum, which are used interchangeably with Lonicera japonica. These other species do have slightly different contraindications though.
Honeysuckle is easily grown and will comfortably climb over and around anything in it's path.
It's soil and water requirements are minimal and apart from the trimming back, nothing further is necessary.
